(2 Corinthians 1:3 NAB) Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of compassion and God of all encouragement,
Compassion – A strong emotional strength, (and so strong desire to respond)
(John 3:16 NKJV) For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life.
Encouraged (Or Comforted)

(Isaiah 7:9b NIV) If you do not stand firm in your faith, you will not stand at all.

(2 Corinthians 1:4 NAB) who encourages us in our every affliction, so that we may be able to encourage those who are in any affliction with the encouragement with which we ourselves are encouraged by God.
(2 Corinthians 1:5 NAB) For as Christ’s sufferings overflow to us, so through Christ does our encouragement also overflow.
(2 Corinthians 1:6 NAB) If we are afflicted, it is for your encouragement and salvation; if we are encouraged, it is for your encouragement, which enables you to endure the same sufferings that we suffer.
(2 Corinthians 1:7 NAB) Our hope for you is firm, for we know that as you share in the sufferings, you also share in the encouragement.
1.Peter Is Encouraged
– Peter is lifted when Jesus speaks his first word to him after the resurrection.
(Mark 16:7 NKJV) But go, tell His disciples—and Peter—that He is going before you into Galilee; there you will see Him, as He said to you.”
2.Peter Encourages Others On Day Of Pentecost
(Acts 2:36-39 NKJV) “Therefore let all the house of Israel know assuredly that God has made this Jesus, whom you crucified, both Lord and Christ.” (37) Now when they heard this, they were cut to the heart, and said to Peter and the rest of the apostles, “Men and brethren, what shall we do?” (38) Then Peter said to them, “Repent, and let every one of you be baptized in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of sins; and you shall receive the gift of the Holy Spirit. (39) For the promise is to you and to your children, and to all who are afar off, as many as the Lord our God will call.”
The Encouragement Of The Scriptures Encourages
(Romans 15:4 NKJV) For whatever things were written before were written for our learning, that we through the patience and comfort of the Scriptures might have hope.
(1 Timothy 4:13 NKJV) Till I come, give attention to reading, to exhortation, to doctrine.
